"title": "i spent $500 on luxury makeup and now i look like a gremlin 💀",
"content": "okay, so i did a thing. i decided to test the ‘splurge vs. save’ debate once and for all. was luxury makeup worth the hype? was it going to change my life? was it going to make me look like a glowing goddess instead of a tired, over-caffeinated human? the answer is NO. oh my god, the answer is a resounding NO. let me tell you the tragic story of my makeup meltdown.
it all started innocently enough. i bought a $75 foundation (because apparently, my face is worth the price of a small vacation), a $40 concealer (because dark circles are apparently a luxury problem), and a $30 highlighter (because why not glow like a disco ball?). i was so confident. i was so sure this was the moment my makeup game would level up. i was so, so wrong.
first, the foundation. it was supposed to be ‘buildable’ and ‘flawless.’ what it actually was? a greasy, slippery nightmare. within 30 minutes, it had melted off my face like butter in a frying pan. i looked like a sad, shiny ghost. i tried to blot it, but that just made it worse. i looked like a gremlin. a gremlin who had just been dipped in oil.
then, the concealer. oh, the concealer. it was supposed to be ‘lightweight’ and ‘long-wearing.’ what it actually was? a thick, cakey mess that cracked like the surface of the moon. i tried to blend it, but it just sat there, mocking me. i looked like a clown. a clown who had been through a war.
and the highlighter? the highlighter was the final betrayal. it was supposed to give me a ‘lit-from-within glow.’ what it actually did was make me look like i had been dusted with glitter by a very aggressive fairy. i sparkled. i sparkled like a disco ball. i sparkled like a cheap carnival prize. i sparkled like a disaster.
i stood in front of the mirror, horrified. my face was a mess. my foundation had abandoned me.
