HUGE. i woke up with a face that looked like a greasy pizza, and not even the good kind from new york. my pores were screaming, my acne was throwing a party, and my self-esteem was in the dumpster. makeup gone wrong? more like makeup betrayal.
i blame the internet. you know those viral “tips” that sound too good to be true? yeah, this was one of them. “skip moisturizer, your skin will look dewy!” no. no, it will not. it will look like a oil slick. my foundation just sat on top of my skin like a sad, clingy ex, refusing to blend. and the acne? oh, it came out of nowhere like a surprise party you didn’t want. i looked like a clown who cried a lot.
and don’t even get me started on the setting spray. i thought, maybe this will fix it. nope. it just made my face glisten like a disco ball. i walked into a meeting looking like a greasy, blotchy mess, and my coworker actually asked if i was okay. i lied and said yes. i was not okay. i was a disaster.
so here’s the deal: if you want to avoid looking like a melted candle, DO NOT skip moisturizer. your skin needs hydration, especially before makeup. also, maybe don’t believe every random tip you see online. (looking at you, tiktok.) and if you do break out, don’t panic-just cleanse, hydrate, and maybe cry a little. it happens to the best of us.
has this ever happened to u??? tell me i’m not alone in this greasy, acne-ridden nightmare. 🙏"
